Basically the procedure in which would be performed is called a Gingivoplasty. It entails recontouring/reshaping the gingival tissue. Most dentists will use a instrument which trims the tissues by cauterizes them. You'll experience a few days of mild discomfort, but the results will be almost immediate. Good luck.

Anyone ever had dental cosmetic surgery to fix a 'gummy' smile?
I just want to know pricing and what it was like. I don't have a gummy smile really, its just in the sides of my mouth when I smile I can see a bit of gum that I don't like. I'm not even sure if a dentist would do it, its such a small amount. but it bothers me, so no harm in trying right?Anyone ever had dental cosmetic surgery to fix a 'gummy' smile?
