Is their that BIG of a difference between mac and drugstore cosmetics?

Obviously Macs going to be the better choice here, But im just curious as to why half of the drugstore makeup i buy blows some mac products away and their half as much.Is their that BIG of a difference between mac and drugstore cosmetics?
Hi hun, well im not sure where your from so sorry if some of my examples dont make sense lol, but MAC is a lot better than some products that you can get from normal drug stores, the colours alot better, like eye shadows for example, when my makeup obsession first started i couldnt afford MAC so used normal products, but the eyeshadow colours were no where as near good as MAC, however some prodcuts in drugstores are reallly good, such as barry M, there is urban decay but i wouldnt class that as a standard drug store brand because it costs arounf about the same as MAC and is reallly good. Some things from No.7 etc are good, you have to try them and see! I do have drugstore products in my kit and love them!Is their that BIG of a difference between mac and drugstore cosmetics?
well, some things are obvious like with eye shadows or lipsticks, MAC ones are really pigmented while drugstore ones are usually not. Also, ingredients, many times the ones in drugstore brands are not as good on your skin as high-end ones, although they might seem to do the same trick. Another difference is well, taste, specially when it comes to mascaras, a lot of people HATE MAC mascaras, however i LOVE mascara X, i wear it everyday with one layer and with two to go out and people think i have false lashes on!! however ive met so many girls who think that mascara is horrible!

A lot of MAC is about hype. Kind of like ipods. keep releasing a different version and everyone wants it.





Some of their products are GREAT and others are alright and some are just disappointing. I don't like any of their products for the face (except MSFs but even those I have to be careful with) because they always break me out. And my skin isn't even sensitive! I do like their eye kohls.
MAC is so much better quality in my opinion. but if you like drug store products more, than buy them! it will save a lot of money:)
